Blue Demon BD-7000 Hardfacing Electrode – High-Speed Tool Steel Alloy for SMAW (Stick Welding)
Electrode for superior wear resistance and heat stability in cutting, forming, and tooling applications
The Blue Demon BD-7000 is a high-performance hardfacing electrode engineered to deposit a tough, high-speed tool steel alloy using manual metal arc welding (SMAW). This rod delivers exceptional resistance to metal-to-metal wear and maintains its hardness in temperatures up to 600°C (1112°F). When tempered, it can reach a hardness of approximately 65 HRC, making it ideal for tools, dies, and surfaces that demand long-lasting edge retention and cold wear durability.
Key Features:
-
Designed for high wear resistance under moderate impact
-
Maintains toughness and hardness up to 600°C
-
Can be tempered to approx. 65 HRC for even greater wear resistance
-
Suitable for friction, sliding, and cold cutting operations
-
Excellent performance in flat and out-of-position welding (half-up, half-down)
