Stoody® 965-G is a general-purpose hard-facing MIG wire designed to provide a balance of impact and abrasion resistance. It is suitable for both metal-to-metal and metal-to-earth applications. Deposits are martensitic and forgeable but not readily machinable. It can be applied to carbon, low-alloy, and manganese steels. The properties are similar to Stoody® Self Hardening covered electrode. Key Features: Current Settings: Direct Current Electrode Positive (DCEP) with amperage between 150-200 Amps and voltage settings between 25-29 Volts. Shielding Gas: Recommended shielding gases include 98% Argon with 2% Oxygen or a 75/25 Argon/CO₂ mix. Welding Positions: Suitable for flat and horizontal positions. Hardness: Deposits achieve a hardness range of 56-60 HRC. Typical Applications: Tillage tools Drag line bucket lips Tamper feet Dredge parts Extruder screws Muller tires Product Specifications: Diameter: 0.045 inches Package Weight: 33 lbs (Basket)
