The Weldmark WEM 0232 is a premium carbon steel solid MIG welding wire, classified as ER70S-6 and copper-coated for enhanced performance. Measuring 0.023 inches (0.6mm) in diameter, this wire is precision layer wound and comes in a 2-pound spool. It contains higher levels of manganese and silicon compared to standard MIG wires, which improves weld puddle fluidity and allows for high-quality welds even on surfaces that are dirty, oily, or rusty. The increased silicon content contributes to a smoother bead appearance, reducing the need for post-weld grinding. Engineered for porosity-free, X-ray quality welds, the WEM 0232 achieves the highest tensile strength in its category. It is compatible with shielding gases such as 100 percent carbon dioxide, a 98 percent argon and 2 percent oxygen blend, or other argon and carbon dioxide mixtures.
